Arthur

Codename: URSUS (Enemy Nickname: "Kodiak")
Alignment: U.N
Type: Aberrant

Appearance: Shaved, black hair, along with a stubble. Brown eyes. Dark skin. African. 8'2 tall. He wears a specially made combat suit called the MACS 18s, with standard U.N colors. (Pale, white-blue, with deep blue accents. Light blue visor)

Black Sun Fragment: Courage

Personality: Calm, level-headed, intellectual, confident, very brave

Weapons:
Arthur's modifications from the black sun gave him immeasurable size and strength. At a little over 8 feet tall, he is easily the strongest of all the test subjects, punching through metal walls using his bare fists with ease. The one big downside of this is that he is also the slowest of the subjects, trading speed for sheer force. The black sun in his body allows him to exceed his normal threshold for strength for a limited amount of time, pushing his body to the very limits, giving him the ability to perform even more powerful feats. Overuse of this ability can lead to exhaustion and even death if used too extensively.

Meryl and Blake designed a specially modified suit of heavy power armor specifically for Arthur, the MACS 18s (s for "strength"). This suit is incredibly bulky and somewhat unwieldy, with Arthur's strength here to compensate for this. The suit enhances his already ludicrous strength, along with his speed and reflexes. The suit's primary feature, however, is the fact that it is literally a walking arsenal. It has enough firepower in it to blow up several city blocks. Most of these weapons are hidden in compartments or slots throughout the suit.

The arsenal include two heavy plasma gatling guns hidden by the arms, along with two flamethrowers. It also includes dual missile pods hidden in the shoulders. The suit is also equipped with a specially made prototype IMX rail cannon, firing large slugs at very high speeds. These slugs can push through just about anything, and Arthur can compensate for the immense recoil of the weapon. This weapon is held like a rifle, and is not a part of the suit itself. However, it is specially built to interlock into the armor's neural interface, giving increased accuracy and better timing when firing shots. The suit also comes equipped with thigh-mounted rail drivers, firing small flechettes at high speeds. Some of the weapons are controlled through the mind, however the flamethrowers, gatling guns, and rail cannon are manually operated. The suit interfaces with the user's mind via a standar on board neural interface, and the weapons are self reloading (minus the rail cannon), allowing Arthur to fire each weapon at his leisure. The suit traded any extra space for close combat or melee weaponry, as with Arthur's strength, he doesn't need a melee weapon.

Story
Arthur is an Aberrant and a major supporting character in the story. Unlike a character such as Isabelle, there isn't that much to him in terms of complexity. Although his incredibly large and bulky frame make the assumption that he is just another bumbling brute, Arthur is quite the opposite.

When Arthur first escaped the Seraphim labs, the rest of the group found out that he didn't speak English. It was clear that the rest of the group spoke English as their primary language, however,
Arthur spoke several languages, but primarily spoke Afrikaans. This language led the group to deduce he lived in South Africa, or a nearby region. The group was worried on how long it would take him to learn English, but were surprised to find out he had learned it in an incredibly short amount of time. It turns out that Arthur is actually very intellectual and smart, although he doesn't like to admit it. Eventually, Arthur continues learning and understanding several languages, and enjoys speaking to locals and natives in various war zones in their native tongues, despite the fact that everyone has universal translators built into their armor. He finds his passions primarily in the art world, enjoying writing and poetry. Arthur is also considered a "gentle giant" by the rest of the group, incredibly slow to anger and very sympathetic, even to his enemies.

Despite his normally calm disposition, on the battlefield he can become incredibly and almost righteously angry. Usually his calm demeanor remains when fighting, but certain things can push him to his limits. Seeing innocents in pain, or other such acts, being committed by either side, can often lead to Arthur becoming furious. There are even points where he begins acting like a totally different person, and can go berserk. When Arthur actually does get mad, it's often very hard to calm him back down.

Arthur is obviously the heavy weapons specialist of the team, using brute force and heavy firepower to push down any walls the enemy keeps up. Despite his very straight forward approach to combat, Arthur considers his job to require a good amount of finesse, knowing where and when to strike. If you strike the wrong side, the battle can turn on you very quickly, especially due to the fact that you're too slow to move to the correct point in time. It's all about timing, and that's what makes it a job requiring serious amounts of skill, along with the serious amounts of firepower. Like all other subjects, he seemingly does not age, although he requires large amounts of sustenance along with sleep in order to keep his massive frame functioning properly.

Due to his level headed, calm, and intellectual personality, Arthur is often the moral and emotional support that most members of the team fall on when in need. Even Leon needs a bit of support from time to time, and Arthur is always there to help out his friends. He is often the shoulder someone needs to cry on, and he is strong enough to try and help pull his teammates out of any holes they might've dug themselves into.

Arthur's Black Sun Fragment is "Courage." Arthur is incredibly brave and often finds no fear in anything, charging head first into the worst of situations. Due to his level of courage and bravery, he can often overestimate himself and underestimate the enemy, which can lead to serious problems. Arthur's overconfidence in his abilities can often lead to him getting stuck in a tight situation, he doesn't have the speed of most other characters to escape a problem like that. This is why he is usually accompanied by another member of the team, to keep him in check while on the battlefield, and because his long and short range firepower lends itself to complement the fighting styles of practically everyone else in the team.
